Going off the last question, what's the biggest mistake you've ever made in your personal life?
I didn’t deal with my parents’ divorce very well. I really shut myself off from the world and became kind of… hollow. It was over a decade ago, but it’s really influenced the way I act and compose myself today… and has been the root of a lot of trouble. It’s incredibly difficult to connect with me emotionally, and I’m terrified of commitment knowing how hurt we can both end up if things don’t go well.
It just… well it sucks.
Do you think it's worth it to give people second chances in relationships? (Like after a moderate sized fuck-up) People usually say if they did it once they'll do it again, do you believe that every time?
I think it’s impossible to classify everyone’s actions and potential to change into an adage, so I don’t believe it every time.
That being said, a relationship is something to be valued and treasured, and depending on the size of this moderate fuck-up… well, I think actions speak louder than words. If someone truly values the relationship they’re in, they usually won’t mess it up. I get people have moments of weakness, and I’ve been on the wrong side of this debate before, and it feels like shit. We all have moments of weakness, and sometimes our brains seem to be much more adept at coercing us to do what we know we shouldn’t if the immediate gain is good.
Like I said, a lot to consider… but more often than not, if you care a lot about the person you’re in a relationship with, you’ll know better than to fuck it up. Take into consideration how much they must truly care about you if they did what they did.
What's the biggest mistake you've ever made?
Not taking my college application process seriously enough.
